The ghd champagne colour hairdryer is fast drying and the nozzle stays on, the champagne colour comes with a red velvet storage bag which is nice and useful. It’s not to heavy weight is okay, but not light weight. It has a loop on the lead if you need to hang it. I have a gold set of ghd straighteners with a lovely bag and would have liked a dryer to matched. Most hairdryers are expensive and it is hard to choose a good one, expensive product, hope it lasts.

    Just treated myself to this hairdryers and also the GHD Platinum+ hair straighteners. I have never paid so much for a hairdryer or straighteners but I have to say, they are worth every penny. The hairdryer dries much quicker than my old one and is easy to handle. My hair is soft and shiny once I have finished and not frizzy and flyaway like it was with my old hairdryer. Paired with the GHD Platinum+ straighteners my hair looks so much better when I have finished and there are no frizzy ends like before. Yes, they are expensive but in my opinion, worth every penny. I won't be buying cheap hairdryers or straighteners again. High recommend both products.

    I spent a lot of money on this hairdryer, so I thought I'd put a bit of time into writing a proper review. First off, I'm going to address the point some reviewers have made about the weight of this dryer. Now the weight is, of course, mainly down to the size of the motor so you can't really expect a dryer this powerful to also be light. That said, I am in my 60s with mild to moderate arthritis in my hands, and I can manage it without any difficulty. Your mileage may vary, of course... ;)

    I actually don't think it feels massively different in weight from other big 'salon' type hairdryers that are less powerful. But the weight distribution is a bit different on the Helios, and you just need to get used to that. The handle is relatively slender, which is good because you can grasp it firmly while still using a couple of fingers to, eg, take another layer of wet hair out of a clip. But it does mean you need to be a bit more aware of the balance of the dryer while you're using it.

    In terms of noise, it's not quiet - how could it be! But the noise is more throaty than tinny (think big car engine, as opposed to little car engine) and so it's less irritating to have to listen to than a smaller dryer (says my husband).

    Keeping with the car analogy, it handles a bit differently from a smaller dryer - for a start, it has an actual kick when you switch it onto the high setting, so be aware of that because I found it disconcerting at the start. The blade-slim nozzle means that the airflow is really, really concentrated and powerful so it takes a couple of drying sessions to adapt to that, too.

    So let's cut to the chase: does it work any better than normal-powered (and priced) hairdryers? It absolutely does, imo. I have medium length, thick hair with an unruly wave in it. I like to blow dry it into a sleek, bouncy style so that is already a challenge. As an older woman, my hair is much drier and more porous than it used to be and getting a smooth, sleek look was becoming very difficult indeed. Well, that's changed. The dryer dries way more quickly and the power, combined with the amazing narrow flow of the air, allows precision styling and polishes the hair. It gives me a high shine with minimal styling product (I use just a small amount of heat protecting blow dry cream).

    My blow dry has lasting effect and I don't wake up next morning with mix of wavy and straight hair, as I used to do before. I don't need to use straighteners and I can 'refresh' the style (if, say, I've got caught out by the rain) using the dryer in a couple of minutes. The look of the blow dry is literally salon standard and I couldn't be happier with the results. So, for me, having ummed-and-ahhed for ages about springing £133 on a hairdryer, I can honestly say it was well worth it for me. In terms of results, I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

    As a final point, I got the navy and black version and it looks very smart and expensive. Though, to be frank, I couldn't care less what it looked like and was only interested in how it made my hair look!

    I have short, fine, naturally silver grey hair, this dryer gave me instant volume, body and shine. A lot lighter and more compact than the Cloud 9 I use on a daily basis.

    Good heat levels for short hair, not too hot, dried hair quickly and a good cool shot button. Useful long cable and noise level is OK.

    It is expensive, but I was lucky enough to purchase when 25% off, which made it more affordable, but still a considered purchase.

    Definitely recommended this dryer.

    I had always purchased hairdryers in the £20 and under category but after my Tresemme failed to produce any heat I researched new ones. My hairdresser recommended the GHD ones and my search bought me to these. The white and rose gold one looks classy and is presented in a solid box which I have kept to store the hairdryer in safely although the hairdryer does have a solid hoop for hanging it up should you wish.

    The cord is long and the settings are noticeably different which is not always the case with the cheaper hairdryers.

    There is quite a bit of weight in this hairdryer and if you suffer with weaker arms/wrists or have a lot of hair to dry this will likely make your arm ache which is something to bear in mind.

    If you use the attachments it is worth mentioning that these do get extremely hot and you will need to let it cool for 5 minutes before attempting to detach it. I usually do this whilst straightening my hair, by which time it is cooler to remove.

    Overall this is a great hairdryer and has definitely helped control the frizz of my hair and drys it quicker which is also a bonus. Certainly expensive but something you use frequently and should last a long time. I have no regrets
